The 2nd convocation of National Institute of Technology Patna was held successfully on 17th march 2013. Degrees were awarded at this convocation to students passing out in the session 2010-2011, 2011-2012 and to those students passing out after first convocation held in June 2010. In total, 858 students were awarded degree at the convocation, in-person and in-absentia taken together. 18 Gold Medals were given to the branch toppers of different branches and to overall toppers for the sessions 2010-2011 and 2011-2012. Best Graduate Award was also given to one boy and one girl student for the sessions 2010-2011 and 2011-2012.
Chief Guest at the convocation was Padmabhusan Dr. V. K. Aatre, Ex DG, DRDO, Ministry of Defence and Guest of Honour was Padmashri Prof. K. L. Chopra, Ex-Director IIT Kharagpur. The chairperson of the institute Sri Manas Bihari Verma presided over the function. The Director of the institute Prof. Asok De delivered the directors report outlining the various activities going on at the institute since last convocation.

section 20 of the Architect Act, 1972 against National Institute of
Technology Patna for the Architecture Course vide letter number
CA/5/Academic-BR01 dated June 5, 2012; and the Registrar-Secretary
shall register all the students admitted in the NIT Patna during the
previous years as an Architect whenever they apply to the Council (CoA)
subject to their qualifying the other requirements.
